The institute's chair, a ex-Amazon UK executive, confirmed that multiple research initiatives at the center employing hundreds have been closed, spun out or finished because they fail to match with the revised strategy.

The center has faced internal strife since last year as employees objected against reforms, culminating in a group of employees submitting a formal grievance to the relevant regulatory body.
